Before we talk about the new claims from this year.
What ever happened to the āIndependent replicationā you promised us way back in 2020?
Time should have told by now right? What did Time say?
For sure.
But does the government need to drop $4 billion to support the 200,000 or whatever CCS vehicles which are on the road?
This is why I hate when government agencies pick winners. Now weāre likely stuck with this goofy dual standards for another 3-4 years which will ultimately leave...
Tesla doesnāt need the subsidies. Only thing frustrating about this is the waste of government money on a āstandardā which is destined for the waste bin of history.
whitehouse did a bit of a āspecial interpretationā of their own legislation and has said funding is only available for CCS equipped chargers.
This contradicts the actual wording of the measure.
Not sure if they are just talking about āfor the momentā¦ā or making an administrative call on what...
In my book GMās projections about shipping volume and new products are just completely worthless. Theyāve said they would have 20+ new EVs by this year. What we got is the Hummer shipping a handful of trucks, and a couple thousand LYRIQ. Every six months they move the goalposts a little and...
The way she said it, it sounded like she was suggesting it was beyond their control and that a profitable sub $40k was just not possible until then.
Which clearly isnāt the case.
I think the Hummer is a better analogy for the Roadster. GM largely outsourced the Bolt and as a result didnāt seem to learn much of anything from it.
Ultium is essentially a reboot of their whole efforts.
I donāt think the Cybertruck and the Semi will be connector compatible. At the semi event it seemed like it, but I think there was a lot of reading between the lines. Cybertruck will have 1000v charging at ~400-600 kW. Semi will have 1000v charging at 2,000 kW. Cybertruck will be cable...
The answer is the same as it is for gas stations. You have excess capacity to soak up those vehicles which will hog extra space.
Cybertruck, and particularly Cybertrucks with trailers are very likely going have the same issue.
You allocate an additional 10-20% of capacity for inefficiency
GM has spent 5+ years making a lot of noise about EVs and has had very little success.
I honestly donāt know what to expect from them any more because they havenāt remotely hit any of their own targets or goals or even gotten close.
3 years ago nobody would have guessed they would be...
I donāt want Tesla doing anything that will bring the scrutiny of the anti-trust regulators. Buying competitors certainly will.
I think you are probably joking⦠but just in case.
I donāt think that necessarily follows. It could just as well mean āwe support the latest and greatestā
I think the only way they get to 12,000 chargers is by including v2.
I donāt think people will care a ton about pulling over the curb so long as you donāt take 2 stalls at a busy site.
Just be as courteous as possible. There is usually 1 stall which has more flexible parking. Use that one and donāt block a second stall unless there are at least a couple other...
From what I understand, much of the transaction will be gated within the Ford app, I suspect Ford will have some monthly membership they push to their customers and it wonāt be clear to anyone other than Ford and Tesla management if/ how much of that gets passed through to Tesla.
LOL. What did you expect? Tesla has been talking about how the truck is going to be affordable for 3+ years. This is what the interior of an affordable/ functional vehicle looks like.
Tesla is installing 1 new Supercharger every 12 hours right now. That rate is accelerating.
Hard to say what the structure of the Ford deal looks like, but Ford customers will be paying through the Ford app so a lot of this is going to happen behind the scenes.
Musk is pretty good at making...
