Hi Alan, my comment on nobody likes being force fed. Had to do with, any authoritarian making a decree, or in this case the governor signing an Executive order without going through the proper channels and putting things up for a vote. In this case state legislature. I'm pretty sure all the...
I said most are going solar, meaning we're not there yet. But that's where we are headed. California has high energy bills. Lots of sun and a state goverment that wants to support Solar. As more & more of us buy EV's and put up solar, our neighbors will start asking questions. And realize how...
Dang I'm slow. It took me going back 2 times to understand how I said the CT isn't useful.
That's my point I guess, I want it to be useful and allow me to show off it's usefulness even when I'm not driving it! All night while I'm sleeping that champ could be out there on the driveway on...
That's one model of a household, but there are lots of different households with different choices. The other interesting thing Les, look at the make-up of CT owners. A crap load of us are retired, Plus a crap load of us this is not our only car. Why have all that storage sitting there on your...
My thoughts are that the more people with EV's will mean more people going solar. And if they figure out a way to use those EV batteries for storage, it will greatly reduce the need for GRID energy. And, have the benifit of going to renewable energy. WIN, WIN!!!
Most of us in California are going Solar! That's why at least having V2H or V2V is important. Elon totally sidestepped that question and clearly wants to sell Powerwalls. I hate to say it, but his answer on battery day was full of crap. A powerwall is expensive and doesn't come close to storing...
The open markets will have a huge impact between now and 15 years from now. How many people buy film cameras now? EV's will show their superiority and benefits to all well before 2035. I also agree, I don't like authoritarians making executive orders. Nobody likes being force fed.
I laugh because generally speaking companies actually produce something most of the time. From what I've heard, both Nikola and Rivian have yet to sell any finished products.
Hmmm,
How about GM will build vehicles and escape from their Dealer business model, with a new Electric division that sells direct, bypassing dealers that have no interest in selling electric vehicles that don't make them money on parts and service. Parts and service is the bread and butter for...
I'm curious what you think their intent is. Sometimes, people/corporations buy tech only to shelve it, or for control. BTW, I once worked at a think tank that was owned by a consortium that spent hundreds of millions annually and never produced any products. ;)
And I'm extremely glad that deal...
LOL, yeah I'll never forget the time A guy tried to talk me into walking a beam 40' up, to put sheet metal flashings on a roof. "oh come on dude, you're a surfer you can do it no problem".
You are totally correct though, I've got lot's of experience at doing dumb stuff and somehow living to tell...
My first reaction is, there's an arms race going on here. My next thought is, there is a sweet spot, tipping point for everything in this world. That seems beyond the tipping point. Actually I have felt for awhile that Tesla may be taking things to far with 2.3 sec. 0-60. 9.9 is STUPID fast...
You are correct. The old school is in trouble, Elon Musk the visionary with a mind that never stops throwing out new ideas and ways of approaching problems now has Tens of BILLIONS at his disposal. That's how those bankers and industrialist put the brakes on Nicholas Tesla. They dried up his...
From what I've heard, it wasn't Renault themselves, but a seperate company that set up to change one type of battery in one model of Renault. And when Renault came up with a newer model it wasn't compatible.
Nio is doing this themselves, they only have 2 models but all their batteries are...
