strange - I see Sandy as doing much more of the conjecture
witness eg: Sandy sort of single-handedly having built the zeitgeist around what the term “exoskeleton” means, from nothing more than the few brief quotes of Musk’s to which we all have access
Munro went on a parade of hours-long...
Admitting this is basically fan fiction: it’s seemed like the last few joint videos between Sandy and Cory had been … off
Probably nothing and unrelated, but the outcome in any event:
if you're certain that is a 'catastrophe', then this must have been Armageddon!
Elon Musk clarifies Tesla will lay off 3.5% of total workforce as ex-employees sue company

maybe that's true?
but neither *you* nor *me* can find any supporting data for that assertion, for either Tesla or Toyota
we can only find *an* analyst who has performed back-in numbers based on partial data, data assumptions, and extrapolations
which is fine, we do more with less, often...
To say nothing of Tesla having apparently previewed multiple times what it *will* look like
I mean, we seem to have been shown the silhouettes of the next/only two additional platforms in the pipeline
You’re a strange duck
Person 1: “I wonder why apples are red?”
Person 2: “because they’re not orange”
Person 1: “in a sense, but not the point”
Persin 2: “if you have evidence apples are orange feel free to share”
Person 1: “Nah, I’m good”
I’m just showing you Tesla’s slide that previews the next two products. I don’t see a tuk-tuk :)
In any event - Tesla has repeated for a while now that the next two products are next gen, one a dedicated robotaxi, another a ~$25K car
the above I thought was uncontroversial
Pretty simple: because you’re not understanding the context of that slide (go see Master Plan slide to understand context)
not sure what you’re arguing about or why
I’m all good
since we’re talking Musk’s comments last week on an earnings call, the 2015 anniversary data is interesring but not exactly relevant
armchair conjecture
armchair conjecture?
asserting as fact without direct support the exact point being questioned
I could draft a parallel set of...
but the discussion here turns on Musk now repeatedly talking about a “dedicated robotaxi” product - and that this dedicated robotaxi product will an unusual form factor, even lack steering wheel, etc.
not the separate idea that any Tesla product could be used as a robotaxi
Because Musk has...
yes
though the lingering points, and resulting oddity:
(1) we don’t know how many Model Y were sold in Q1 - Tesla reports global sales quarterly, but does not provide a break-out of M3 vs MY, analysts perform back-ins
and
(2) we don’t know how many Corollas were sold globally either, as...
somewhat yes thx
though discussion above is that it sounds from Q2 call like the robotaxi might be the first of these next gens - at least Musk focused a lot on that, but not on the sedan
ah, wait, I watched the shareholder meeting portion that had Q&A with Elon at the end, and I think it’s this presentation beforehand you’re referring to:
Quick scan found a few bits around the unboxed construction
Investor Day?
i didn’t remember much, and just scanned back through, and there’s less said about next Gen details than was just said on the Q2?
he says they’re building 2 new products, they may make >5M per year of them, and they’re revolutionary in assembly
otherwise the deck seems to only...
Elon's discussion on Wednesday, and some prior comments, make clear there will be dedicated robotaxi products. This comports with word on the street.
"In the long term, Autonomy, we think, is going to just drive volume through the ceiling next level and -- and our sort of future robotaxi...
This I believe is the robotaxi, the 'next gen platform,' and Musk's comments on Wednesday regarding it being more revolutionary than even the CT would visually seem to square with the outline of the 'ghost' below
I believe this is the robotaxi platform, and it sounds like a big deal for Tesla
word on the street, is that we’ll hear a lot more about it over the coming months
I’m pretty into it
Found this story, which does a better but not complete job of sorting information sources
