Ok thanks, in the video it looks like the water falls off the untreated side quickly where the ProtectaClear side has larger and more persistent water droplets. Is it your experience that PC causes some puddling or more persistent water droplets to stay on the stainless? Not a big deal if you...
I think something that is hurting resale value on the Y is the publicly posted offers that Tesla is giving people for their trade-ins. A bunch of posts on X about people upset about getting offered $14k for a recent year low mileage model Y. Granted Tesla has to make some money on the flip but...
Yeaaaaa I was going to order some today, but with the shelf life being 3 years figure my CT might not be delivered yet :)
Although I might get some ahead of time just to play around with it on some scrap metal.
Only remaining concern is it not lasting long enough, or maybe there is some reason I don't like it.
Any chance you can add to your video series.
1. Touching up damaged or faded/worn ProtectaClear
2. Removing ProtectaClear
Just so we have an idea long term what we are looking at.
THANKS
Ok thanks, one other follow up question.
Around 45s it shows the treated and untreated section. Pictured below
Did you wipe off the raw stainless on the right, you can see the fingerprints at the top
It is interesting that there are a lot more water droplets on the left side, is that something...
Woa that is pretty big.
The fact I can PW my car (and my guess is take it through a carwash) with PC on it to keep the fingerprint maddess away is big.
THANKS for doing that video?
Does a great job of showing how the PC looks vs bare stainless.
Any idea what series stainless that was? 304 316?
It is not cheap but lets be real.
Truck base cost is $80 and $100k
Currently everyone with one paid an extra $20k to get it early
A LOT of people are dropping another $10k on wraps/tints
So yea it is a good chunk of money, but depending what you live and what you do it may be less "crazy" to...
Definitely waiting for someone to make one of these, ideally with a LARGER window, like a split half slider.
It would help make up for the fact that Tesa cut the passthrough gate and HVAC in the vault.
Hopefully the one for the CT is also under $300 :)
Interesting that it is thin enough to go up and down, any rough idea on price, and assume it is per window as some people won't want the back windows bulletproof but will want the drivers?
Yea would be interested to see what it looks like if we DO use a power washer, does it just fade faster, does it crack, peel, etc?
If I have to apply it once a year so I can blast it through a car wash thats ok
Ouch yea, maybe that is just Foundation Series Cybertruck Specialty Kit pricing and in 2026 when the Non Foundation series start to ship the price will drop?
Any chance of a fingerprint test follow-up video?
The fingerprints on the CT are pretty bad.........if this reduces them say 70% it would be a very worthwhile investment.
Pretty sure that is considered hazmat and you can't ship it without extreme expense and hassle, they sell it at all big box hardware stores, and most walmarts.
Any chance for a follow-up video on the door panel after a week or so?
Looks super promising.
Also some pictures of the whole truck under differently lighting conditions would be nice to see.
