Moved topic: carbon capture is going to have to be part of the future

True. When you think about it, trees pull carbon from the air and then release it again when they rot away. It's just a lot slower than a fire!

Moved topic: carbon capture is going to have to be part of the future

Trees will eventually capture all the carbon if we just stop putting all the extra carbon in the air.

Elon Musk working on Master Plan Part 3

How about this? You schedule your road trip with "Tesla Trips" and it sends a car to your house at your desired departure time. It drives you to the farthest charging station it can reach where you are met by another Tesla which continues with you on your way. You may change cars a bit but...

Things they don't tell you about owning an EV.

110v charges about 3.8 miles per hour at 15 amps. Tesla Wall Connection lets you charge at about 40 miles per hour. Spending just 14 hours at home, you'd get between 52.2 to 560 miles per night At a cost of $0.12 per KwH, it costs about $0.04 per mile to charge at home.

Things they don't tell you about owning an EV.

Repository for advice, tips, jokes, etc. Gassing up my truck, I always spray some gas on my hands as a good sanitization practice. Burns the eyes a little but, you can't be too safe. My wife can't do this with her Tesla. I'm dreading charging my cybertruck because I'll have to carry cans...

A Tesla drives into a bar...

Agreed. Sarcasm doesn't always come through. I know the "\s" indicates sarcasm but, although it's VERY irritating to type out, I prefer the "sarcasm font" as in: I lOvE wAiTiNg So LoNg FoR mY cYbErTrUcK. cAn I wAiT lOnGeR?

Am I the only person here who would like Elon to STFU? [CLOSED DUE TO POLITICS]

Oh. Duh. I can see where my response looks like I was sarcastically showing you the amendment. That was not my intent. Sorry. I was putting it there because doing so lets people read the actual words to set a baseline for discussion. Free speech is about what the government can and can't...

Am I the only person here who would like Elon to STFU? [CLOSED DUE TO POLITICS]

    * Jeep Stellantis' joint venture in China filed for bankruptcy. Stellantis will still make Jeeps elsewhere though it doesn't bode well that they are abandoning such a large market.

Am I the only person here who would like Elon to STFU? [CLOSED DUE TO POLITICS]

3 of 4 of my grandparents passed away due to dementia/alzheimers. I'm doomed to follow in their footprints. I try to remember people and faces and places but I don't always succeed. My wife understands that I have this great weight looming over my head that I try really hard to overcome but...

Tesla V4 Supercharger designed station submitted for permitting - in Arizona

I would argue that the Super Charger Network is what allows Tesla to sell cars at 30% ROI. Telsa may not make as much on the SCN as they do on their cars but without the one, you don't get the other. So, in this way, the SCN enables Tesla to make 30% ROI... If you are making a case for a...

Tesla Model Y Texas-Built Giga Castings Removed!

Don't forget the quality of the cars goes up tremendously as the panel gaps can be made to perfectly fit. There will no longer be minor variations due to metal temp during/after welding, adhesive inconsistency, and others. Those castings will always be the same. You'll see panel gaps and...

    Texas Model Y hits 1000 cars/ week

IIRC, the Berlin factory worked 2 shifts to do their ramping. Texas is using a single shift. I wonder if the factory is electrically limited at the time. I mean, they're building that new electrical transfer yard and Megapack storage area. They also haven't connected the solar yet from what...

    Will Rivian Make It?

Their burn rate includes capital expenditures and will not continue at the level it is. Surely not once they've finished paying for the Georgia plant. Their main factory is built so a "per-unit" analysis of cost vs sales price when including those expenses makes it look like a bad business...

Elon Musk Financial Times Interview (Includes some Cybertruck content)

Not in the history of autos has it taken a manufacturer 3 years to ramp up and figure out production. No, Tesla will go from 1 CT produced on the line to 1 per 2 minutes in less than 6 months.

Elon Musk working on Master Plan Part 3

I have zero interest in loaning out my car to be abused by some stranger. Sure, you can monitor it but it'd be sort of like letting a stranger sleep in your hotel room while you are at the conference. I mean, why leave that room empty all day? However, being able to have my car drop me off at...
