Just thought you guys might enjoy this. Latest Norwegian hit song (in English), which includes the popular retro synthwave sound, but more importantly Cybertruck esthetic and a bonus DeLorean on stage (which just happens to be stainless steel and American too, as you know).
The song is called...
I know that. I’m apparently driving through a mountainous woodland wilderness on my way to the cabin too and the autopilot begrudgingly accepts the markings and the cameras in that I am in fact driving on a new highway, but it freaks out now and again based on map data of old roads which used to...
Also the system double checks with the mapping data that there is actually a tunnel there (also why would the road go there if it wasn’t?). If the tunnel is closed for some reason the car can get real-time traffic data and see the warning lights and signs.
It’s the same reason some hooligans...
I see from the article what you are talking about now. Of course there’s more than one camera in one direction with different eye settings like zoom etc. Crissa said as much I just didn’t connect. Doesn’t look like there’s any limitation for the mentioned 360 view feature either, but their focus...
Interesting about lidar. And yes a composite view would be an improvement over our two eyes pretty close together. But I’m pretty sure I haven’t thought this through, but I thought none of the cameras overlap each other and that was one of the reasons we didn’t get a 360° view on the Teslas...
Humans biggest driving problem is low sun ahead (or so I was told I’m driving school), and that’s a problem in all northern regions during the winter.
I’ve tried autopilot while staying vigilant while driving through many short tunnels and under bypasses with the low sun in my eyes (on the way...
A Polestar on “driving assistance” swirled and crashed in a road lamp in my town today. Refreshing that “FSD crash” news are not all Tesla with big letters anymore. Of course they only called it EV instead.
I agree with both of you. And it’s here. I am in the business of building new (electric) railroads and tunnels, and we already have requirements for «green» construction sites with low carbon footprint and have electric diggers, cars, etc. Only reasons not to is if it is highly specialized...
Most inland ferries are subsidized, except those in central and heavily trafficked routes.
This one is from the southern tip of Norway to Denmark though. It’s popular in the summer, and all year round when it comes to commercial traffic, because it’s fast and you don’t have to drive through...
Stuck in queue on the way home to Norway in the Suez Canal because of the ship which drifted and turned abeam now though...

I know all Porsches including the Taycan EV are available with rear axle steering, and the “Turbo S” level comes with it standard I believe. Probably on the new taller Cross Turismo EV too. I don’t think you can “crab walk” with them but crudely said they turn opposite of the front at low speeds...
Just found it fascinating that Fjord Line’s (famous for cruise ships and ferries running on natural gas) new car and passenger catamaran which this summer is set to operate between Kristiansand, Norway, and Hirtshals, Denmark, (in just 2 hours 15 min travel time) has room for 404 cars (+1200pax)...
Quick fix for the XC40 Recharge’s horrible aerodynamics? Kinda like the Porsche Cayenne Coupe (e-hybrid). But in that case I would expect this to get longer range or less battery. SUV Coupes (BMW, Audi, MB, Lambo, etc) have been fashionable lately but they usually keep the height clearance...
I can attest to this. I have a 2020 Specialized Levo Comp and a 2021 Rocky Mountain Instinct BC edition Carbon electric mountain bikes, and after almost hitting many deer and two moose, I tend to cough and hum a lot while riding at speed. The helmet and body armor won’t withstand a stomping...
The only point of reference I know is Norway. Here the incentive for EV is just not applying any tax on EVs, while ICE cars have been heavily taxed (35-50%) for decades. So easily implemented with a huge effect. In addition tolls, city slow-charging and parking have been free, and EVs can drive...
Of course it won’t last, and let’s be glad when it doesn’t. Subsidies are tax money after all. Incentives are great to promote change (I’ve taken a huge share) but will fall when markets mature. Which hopefully and probably means we’re at a point where it just makes more economical sense to go...
I just came over this news today and found the charging and battery bit amazing. Maybe others do as well.
The world’s largest electric ferry is set in operation in Norway Monday. Actually 3 of them on the same line. Moving 3.8 million passengers and 1.8 million cars each year.
Each one has a...
