Yeah, not even 3 years. Introduced they were working on a Tesla Bot August 2021 at AI day. The first working prototype walked out on stage on AI day on September 2022, so 1 year.

I know nothing about robots, computers or neural nets but from what I have read it seems Boston D is doing by writing code to get the output. What Optimus is doing is completely different. It is sorting those items on its own. It see visually and the neural nets drives the output real time...
