So I am attempting to do a thing

I haven't figured any of that out yet, tbh. Its very possible I come to the same conclusion and decide to just lipo the whole thing. Holding out hope I win the lottery and can just have my own personal Megapack.

So I am attempting to do a thing

Not enough space, and given the height off the ground of the roof (a large colonial) I'd rather not deal with roof-mounted panels. Especially considering that I have no shortage of ground space. The animal barn has its own rooftop microgrid/battery and uses little power, but the shop...

So I am attempting to do a thing

In my case, my utility is significantly more permissive than my township zoning ordinances- the township being my AHJ I'm this instance. The township did some stuff to try to keep a solar farm out and succeeded, but also basically killed rooftop solar at the same time. They grandfathered in...

So I am attempting to do a thing

Good luck! Genuinely. I'm building a house right now, and looking to place a ground mount solar array large enough to off-grid (once I can afford all the batteries ). I have 17 acres, and the zoning ordinance will only allow me to place a ground mounted solar array "with a total PV array...

Arcimoto shuts down factory, stock plunges as it warns of bankruptcy

TBH, I didn't know Arcimoto started deliveries - and I literally have a google calendar where I track these things (specific dates for EV reveals/releases/first deliveries/etc.). I looked at these like 2 years ago and assumed that it'd either never get to market but if it did it'd be 2 years of...

Musk say's "Too much on my plate" [CLOSED DUE TO POLITICS]

I have mixed opinions about Elon. The guy is good at getting the ball rolling and following-through on the bets no one else wants to make. He has a remarkable track record of doing the impossible - mostly by inspiring others to grind out the stuff no one else wants to grind out. His...

The Truth Behind The Terrible Resale Value Of Electric Cars

Even used-to-used. I picked up a '18 Model X in march of this year for $68k which now bluebooks at $75k

The Truth Behind The Terrible Resale Value Of Electric Cars

Case study of 1, but my 13k mile 2021 Bolt EV has a higher resale right now than what I paid for it in May 2021. Part of that is because it'll get a new battery pack soon due to the recall, the other because of market conditions. A sign of the idiocy of the market right now - both my EVs have...

Tesla plans to buy Mercedes Benz

I don't see the net benefit from buying M-B to Tesla. What Tesla is constricted by is not sales volume or exposure to that market, its: - Manufacturing capacity - Battery supply - Eventually, raw material availability If Tesla is going to do some acquisition, it's going to be to address those...

GM Says Its Fuel Cell Generators Could Enable EV Fast-Charging

I haven't watched Discovery yet (because I have a hard time accepting anything after DS9 as cannon), so 100% intended just the real dude - but now I feel like I need to watch Discovery. Ugh...

GM Says Its Fuel Cell Generators Could Enable EV Fast-Charging

I'm so deep into mycelium I might as be Paul Stamets at this point. I watched the documentary "fantastic fungi" on Netflix and it literally changed my world view.

GM Says Its Fuel Cell Generators Could Enable EV Fast-Charging

TBH probably. I've always been a bit of a doomsday prepper, but observing human behavior during the last ~3-5 years has added a whole new level of chaos to be ready for.

GM Says Its Fuel Cell Generators Could Enable EV Fast-Charging

I don't know exactly what it is, but it's like a disease in my head that I have to be constantly making systems more robust and self-sustaining. Constantly searching for points of weakness and failure. It used to be manageable, but lately I see everything through the lens of " does this work...

GM Says Its Fuel Cell Generators Could Enable EV Fast-Charging

Single source power production and grid reliance is a recipe for fragility. Hydrogen, particularly hydrogen created via renewables, is mostly "green" and adds fuel source diversity, which improves resiliance. Also, hydro works during volcanic/nuclear winter.

Is Consumer Reports on the take from Big Oil and Gas?

I mean...tbh, if Elon said "we're not even removing the mill scale, deal with it" I bet a bunch of us would still be alright with it.

Anyone work for Tesla? Career Application Question

If you believe the recruiter is related to the position or posting, yes. If you're not sure, the worst that happens is they ignore you IMO. I don't think anyone would see it as super negative.

Anyone work for Tesla? Career Application Question

I do not work at Tesla, and I am not familiar with Tesla's hiring process, but I do have significant hiring experience at the enterprise level and am very familiar with HRIS systems similar to what Tesla uses. This could be for a number of reasons: The job could have been listed, but then...

Off-topic: nothing to see here - Tesla Van

As a Pacifica Hybrid owner, I'd cancel my CT res in a minute if there was a Tesla van with the same capabilities. 7/8 passenger, "stow and go" third row and very easily removable 2nd row captain seats, and 350+ miles of range (plus towing) and I'll spend my $50-70k there instead of on the CT...

EV haters in EV threads are now called "ICE Trolls"

Same. I do not get the innate hatred towards EVs. I don't get the coal rolling that happens to EVs, which being out here in Bro-dozer ag land I have actually seen a few times. I think EVs got associated with "liberal" and that's the angle of attack for some of this stuff.
