Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

No worries. With Megapack, they are currently $1.8m, have 1.9MW output, so 7.7 250kW v 3 stalls at once, and then the 3.7MWh of battery storage can recharge 38 Model Ys with 75kWh each, or 29 CTs. The return on that at $0.45kWh is $675hr so it would take 3000hours at full capacity to pay back...

Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

Why post a link to a story from nearly twenty years ago in 2006? The question is not to fill holes, it's where do most customers live and use the vehicle. I live in Australia and my nearest SC is 300miles away, going from WA to over east, along our countries main interstate, there is a 1600mile...

Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

Exactly. Bloatware, just like Windows, or a Chinese cheapo phone that is subsidised by pre-installed apps. More is not better. Best part is no human...sometimes! :p

Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

I get how it was. That is however not how it is anymore. There are quite a few chargers, and there doesn't need to be as many as gas stations, if everyone is doing most of their charging at home. Like you do too. The point is simply when is the break even point reached, when is there enough...

Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

Well Tesla has 140,000 employees and the charging dept. is 500...thats 0.4% Whoopdeedo. I don't think it's meaningful, technically they'd have that amount of personnel turnover every month, if not every few weeks.

Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

There is no reason to have chargers at every intersection etc etc. It's not only wasteful, but actually makes it more likely that the charger location goes bust because they can't make ends meet for capex alone. You don't understand how much chargers cost, (more than a M3 each port) and how...

Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

You obviously don't understand the reality of the actual "importance" of the charging department. You are making the charging department more important than it actually is. You don't even know what parts of the department were fired...but you sure have a HUGE opinion on who is to blame even...

Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

You are proving his point, in that you are unqualified to make a call to sack a CEO at all, let alone purely on emotional grounds.

Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

Exactly, a bad employee has poor individual performance which a detriment to those that have good performance. It's quite literally weeding out the bad eggs. Plus, the department proably wasn't profitable either, as discussed previously, and so that was the least amount of employees that...

Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

Is that for everything, including the network connection and transformers? Or is that just for the Tesla side charge stations etc? Because MW scale network connections and transformers are not that cheap.

Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

I don't have a problem with the illogical fear of range anxiety, and I live in Australia where there are a lot less SC. Sure having the "best" charger network is a selling point, but how long would it take for Tesla to lose that title? When are there "enough" chargers? But there are a few...

Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

Is anyone asking the logical questions? Are Superchargers profitable at all? There are two elements to this: 1) return on investment 2) power puchase costs If its low margin, and Tesla is boarding up the windows for a hard time ahead, wouldn't you focus of trimming the least profitable parts...

Do you have numbers to support that? Have you compared them to developing nations? Show your work.

Tesla Cuts 10% of Global Workforce

Sounds good. BTW You can ge retrofit bidets that are integrated into normal toilet seats, they work quite well and can even be installed without the need of a plumber. Ideally, you'd use warm water though, it's more comfortable. The water thing is actually energy related, in that a lot of water...

Tesla Cuts 10% of Global Workforce

Well if the market position is true, then stocking up at home probably isn't a bad idea either? Be that to overcome the short term price rise whilst supply chains stabilize, or so you have a buffer if the shortages are longer term. Of all the risks, probably the most consequential one, and...

Tesla Cuts 10% of Global Workforce

Um they have a lot to do with eachother. For example how your food gets made, processed and distributed is directly proportional to fuel prices. That's because fertiliser is made from fossil fuel, farm machinery run on fuel etc, etc. and make up the primary cost of it. Fuel restriction through...

Tesla Cuts 10% of Global Workforce

No just ignorant self involved people that can't read simple market graphs or notice world events around them are wrong. Bad things are already happening...if you bother to have a look. Worse than usual for sure. Have you seen gold? Have you seen Tesla stocks? Walmart? ah right...

Tesla Cuts 10% of Global Workforce

Only one way the economy can go atm, and stocks like Tesla. Model 2 might be on the chopping block as well now. EM is thinning out for what's coming next globally. Best investments are in essentials like food, fuel and gold/silver to store wealth.

1800 jobs cut today @ Gigafactory rumored there will be a 2nd wave in the next few days.

There will be more layoffs later this year as the dollar crashes because of BRICS and fuel prices soar from gulf wars. I'm surprised they kept most of the MY assembly team in the first place for the CT, seeing that the CT should be even more production optimized and automated. Biggest problem...

    Starship Launch - Flight 3

It looks like when it came in and twisted on its side and couldn't recover from there. The plasma views on re-entry were spectacular. They lost telemetry and Starlink at the same time, so likely a RUD soon after. Apparently, there might of been an issue with the cold gas thrusters freezing up...
